Chisholm Prison is from The Problem of Cell 13 (1905), one of the most famous Jacques Futrelle's "Thinking Machine" stories. Although, Chisholm Prison's location is disputable as the settings in the "Thinking Machine" stories were set in the Boston, Massachusetts area. E. F. Bleiler in the introduction to his 1973 Dover collection Best Thinking Machine Detective Stories implies that Chisholm prison is based on Charlestown Prison.
