Skull Island is an island that is home to various prehistoric creatures, including monstrously proportioned primates, that were thought to be long extinct. The island's location is somewhere way east of Madagascar. Sinbad had briefly visited Skull Island and mentioned this in his log.[1]
In the 1930s, a giant ape named King Kong was taken to the United States from Skull Island before it went on a rampage and ultimately killed in New York City. Its body was returned to Skull Island and given a burial by Janni Dakkar.[2]
